I think that there are shortcuts and maybe toolbars on the first screen.
About the second. I'm almost shure that one of checkboxes asks to install the whole Yandex Browser, and the other can be accept Yandex license agreement or set Yandex as default search engine or add Yandex tollbar - I don't know.

I prefer Google too.
By the way, I've installed Yandex browser now, because I want to have one chromium. I think It's awful, for me at least. Now I'm going to install Comodo Dragon instead of it
